Thomas Braun

Owner and President

Tom Braun is the owner and president of StreamSong Advisors. Prior to founding the firm, Tom served as Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor at Fifth Third Bank Western Michigan where he provided relationship management and wealth planning services to private banking clients.

With over two decades of experience, Tom’s career includes executive-level positions at Ford Motor Company, Apogee Enterprises and Fabric Services. He has expertise in the areas of M&A and private equity, along with equity compensation plan design and administration.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. He earned a Series 66 registration, as well as a Life and Health Insurance license.

Tom is active in the community, he served as a Board Member for the Boys & Girls Club of America for over a decade and is now on the board of West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology (WMCAT). He volunteers his time for many causes, including many sports organizations, organizations supporting inclusion and diversity, BLEND, Kids Food Basket, and the United Way. Tom served as a former coach for Grand Rapids Storm AAU Basketball, as well as a former coach for Catholic Central and Forest Hills Northern Baseball.

 

Kerby Wallick CFA

Chief Investment Strategist

Kerby Wallick has over 30 years of experience as a professional fiduciary investor. Over that time, he has built many long-term relationships with clients, including institutions and high-net-worth families. He has built portfolios, headed research teams and co-managed mutual funds, always with the focus of providing the best return with the least amount of risk.

He received a BSBA in Finance with honors from the University of Akron, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ®) designation. He works with families to assist them in growing, preserving, and transferring their wealth efficiently, while also meeting current cash flow needs and tolerance for risk. He also holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) designation to guide clients who are exploring or going through a divorce.

Kerby is actively involved in the community and currently serves as an umpire for MHSAA and USA Softball. Kerby has also volunteered his time to the Investment Committee for the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, acted as Chairman for the St. Paul the Apostle Education Foundation, and held the position of Treasurer for Grand Rapids Catholic Central’s Hockey Board. Kerby has coached travel softball for the Michigan Sabercats and GR Blaze while formerly coaching for Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and Elite Baseball.

Melissa L. George CFF, CFS®

Owner of InvestHER Fiduciary Solutions in Partnership with StreamSong Advisors. Financial Planner, FINRA Arbitrator, Benefits Consultant

Melissa is not an employee of Streamsong Advisors but a trusted partner. Melissa is a proactive custodian of planning for life transitions. She utilizes 25+ years of financial planning experience to help her clients Make Life Grow! She founded InvestHER Fiduciary Solutions, LLC in 2006 where she designs and implements creative retirement, income, and tax planning solutions. Over the years, her focus has gravitated towards the unique needs of closely-held business owners, high-level executives and she is particularly passionate about educating and working with women.

Melissa received her BBA from Georgia State University and is licensed in multiple states. Her company is minority certified and has won several contracts with city and county governments. Her professional and civic affiliations include HouseProud Atlanta, Girls Inc of Greater Atlanta, the National Association of Women-Owned Small Businesses, the United Way VIP Alumni Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Sam Vasiu

Client Advisor Associate

A 2020 graduate of Northpointe Christian high school in Grand Rapids, MI, Sam was a two-time Academic All-State honoree, BCAM Outstanding Senior Student Athlete award winner, and named to both the BCAM and Associated Press All State basketball first teams as a senior. He attended Hillsdale College on a basketball scholarship and graduated this year with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree with an emphasis on business and financial planning. During the course of his college career, he was named to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) Academic All Conference team, won a GMAC title, Regional title, and competed in the 2021 NCAA D2 Sweet 16, and 2022 Elite Eight. He finishes his playing career with one of the all-time best winning percentages in program history. He has completed multiple financial planning and advising internships at firms in Holland, Muskegon and Grand Rapids, MI, and is a State of Michigan Accident and Health, and Life insurance resident producer licensee. He formally joins Streamsong Financial Advisors after previously completing an internship with the company in summer 2023. Sam‘s parents are Peter and Jennifer Vasiu. He has three siblings; two older brothers, Jeffrey and Benson and a younger sister, Elizabeth.

Michael O'Farrell

Client Relationship Advisor

Michael O’Farrell is the newest addition to the Streamsong Advisors team. Prior to joining, he held a successful career operating on the brokerage advisory team at Merrill Lynch where he specialized in portfolio analysis and management, trade facilitation, and working alongside high-net-worth individuals and families as a trusted fiduciary to manage their financial picture in a manner consistent to achieving their financial goals. Previous to entering the wealth management space, he worked in Corporate Finance for a large multinational company, where he was responsible for driving growth through various accounting duties, KPI analysis, and developing specialized project models for use across the enterprise. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at Griffith College in Dublin, Ireland where he earned his BA with Honors in Business Studies. He currently holds a Series 7 License, Series 66 License, is NMLS registered, and aspires to obtain his CFA designation in the near future. Stepping outside the realm of financial services, during his college years, Michael worked as a fly fishing guide in Wyoming which lead to him residing in his current home of Bozeman, Montana. When not working, he can be found fly fishing across Mountain-West, skiing, or chasing upland birds with his two dogs. Active in his local communities, Michael volunteers with many local conservation groups.
